A full week at the school will enable you to truly share in the culture of Qi Gong and Tai Chi. Next to the daily training, it will allow you to have in-depth discussions with the experienced masters on all aspects of Tai Chi and how to incorporate it into your daily life. You will also have plenty of opportunity to learn and practice with other students staying at the school.
The Yangshuo Traditional Tai Chi School is housed in a beautiful Qing-Dynasty building which we have lovingly renovated for training purposes and accommodation. The ancient surroundings allow our students to train in the traditional school environment which has nurtured all the great Tai Chi masters.
For accommodation we offer single, double or family rooms with either shared or private bathroom. All rooms have air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Our chef serves an excellent selection of traditional and local Chinese dishes suited for both non-vegetarians and vegetarians in the on-site dining room.

Itinerary
Classes run from Monday to Friday and include a warm up and flexibility training, Qi Gong movements, meditation and Tai Chi. The day is structured according to the following schedule:
Breakfast: 07:30 – 08:30
Morning: 09:30 – 11:30
Lunch: 12:00 – 13:00
Afternoon: 15:00 – 17:00
Dinner: 18:00 – 19:00
Students are welcome to use the facilities for exercise and self-practice outside of class
times.

Accommodation
As accommodation the school offers single, double or family rooms with either shared or private bathroom. All rooms have air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The price quoted is based on a single private room with private bathroom of western standard.
All rooms are clean and retain the authentic feel of the ancient Qing-Dynasty buildings. The school also has a lively common area for students to gather. There is also a washing machine available which is free to use.
Staying at the school is a great choice if you really want to immerse yourself in a traditional Tai Chi school environment. It provides both structured formal classes and the opportunity to learn more about Tai Chi and Chinese culture in a relaxed and informal way with the teachers and other students outside of class time.

Food
Tai Chi, like Chinese medicine, is all about balance. Good health is maintained by, amongst other things, the ingredients which we take in as food, and the way in which we expend energy.
Our chef is a master of the wok and adheres to these principles. Every day teachers and students enjoy a well-balanced diet cooked in the traditional Chinese style and made from ingredients which are sourced fresh every day from the local farmers’ market. Each meal contains a large choice of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.

Food is not just important for its ingredients, but also for the way we eat, and in China it is hard to imagine eating without sharing. Everybody sits around the same table to share the ingredients of a meal eaten in common. Eating in China is a social event, so that while we eat together, we share experiences from all walks of life, all ages, and every part of the world.

The school is located in scenic Jima Village just inside the Yulong Ecological Park, only a few minutes away from the center of Yangshuo. The area is renowned for its beautiful countryside with Karst mountain scenery and pleasant rivers while Yangshuo offers a vibrant city life. The school address is:

I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend a 2-week Tai Chi and Qigong training at the Yangzhou Tai Chi School and I cannot express enough how positively transformative the experience was for me.From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality by the staff and... instructors. In my class there were only 3 people, there was time to correct each one. Each instruction was very complete, ranging from the philosophy of Tai Chi practice to Chinese medicine, the vision of anatomy with a focus on the meridians and without failing to mention the holistic theory of practice.... Silent classes with good facilities, in a beautiful environment. My teachers were kind and very patient, they made you reach the postures through your own understanding of the body and energy. You can use the facilities if you wish to practice privately, outside of class hours. Respect prevails among students from different countries and ages. The food is simple, but delicious. Free bicycles and washing machines are available. The teachers are always available and willing to answer any questions, from the classes themselves to your walks, logistics and daily life. Yangshuo is a paradisiacal environment, with incredible landscapes, there are many activities to do, from hiking to mountain climbing, boat rides along the beautiful rivers, scooters along the mountains, shows, etc.read more
